Meet the Artist

Tova Hoffman

“Ceramics and clay have been my passion for over 35 years.”

At the age of twenty two I started a ceramic degree at Bezalel, Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel. After two years of fun in the Ceramic Department it was time to explore the world and travel. I traveled for a few years before completing a ceramic degree at Harrow Art School UK in 1989. My partner, Rod Dilkes, and I arrived in Margaret River in 1990. We built our studio and gallery, with the assistance of Rod’s father, opening the doors to the public in December of 1991.

Alongside functional pottery, I work on various collection pieces which presently include “Ocean Windows” “Bush Leaves” and “Cosmic” . These works are inspired by the beautiful environment that surrounds my studio. This February (2016) I started two new series. “Landforms” inspired by aerial views of the landscape and “Seascape” inspired by watermarks and shell gathering at the beach.

The use of distinctive gold and silver lustre, transforms my hand made pots into jeweled objects.

“I love knowing that my ceramics bring beauty and joy into your home.”
